Heinz beans attempt to recreate the famous cup song and it seems to be catching on - could you do it?

Look away now if you a) haven't seen Pitch Perfect or b) hate baked beans.

However, if you are a dedicated fan of the 2012 hit film - or if you are passionate about beans - then this challenge may strike a chord.

Remember the Cup Song?

Anna Kendrick's character, Beca, walks into an audition and absolutely nails the 1931 Carter Family song 'When I'm Gone'.

The Pitch Perfect version - complete with routine - captured many an imagination, as others tried to recreate the routine (we tried, we quickly gave up.)

Now Heinz wants in on the Cup Song action.

Firstly they came up with this advert, which has opinion divided.

Now one Instagram user, Ali Harmsworth, has risen to the #cansong challenge - and has made it look deceptively simple.

So how can we do it?

According to Ali, the routine goes; throw, scrape, fun tap, pat, flip, tap, pat pat tap, spin, knock knock knock.

At least, we think that's what's happening.

Both Ali's routine and the advert itself are strangely hypnotic, meaning people are watching it - even if they're not big fans.

Such as this girl, who had some health and safety concerns.

To be fair to Heinz, they do tell you to wrap the rim in tape to prevent doing yourself a mischief.

Others found it compelling against their better judgement.
