A determined rat was caught on camera this week as it tried desperately to climb up a downwards-moving escalator.
The video was captured in the Philippines and shows shocked onlookers in a shopping mall shouting: "Oh my God," as the rodent jumps up each step.
At one stage, the rat almost makes it to the top before losing momentum and ending up right back where it started.
It is not clear whether the animal managed to get off the escalator, but it certainly brought shoppers to a halt as it attempted the mammoth challenge.
The video is reminiscent of a similar clip that emerged online last year, showing a rat on the New York subway carrying a massive slice of pizza down a set of concrete steps.
